Benefits of pallet transport
A pallet can hold many items. When sending a shipment on a pallet with SpeedPack, you can pack your goods up to a height of 180 cm and a weight of up to 1000 kg. This is a better and more economical option than sending multiple items in standard parcels. On a pallet, your goods remain stable regardless of how many components they consist of and what route they must travel. The chance of something shifting or damaging the rest of the load is minimised. Additionally, loading and unloading goods packed on a pallet is quick and efficient. How to pack goods on a pallet so they arrive in perfect condition – practical tips
Once you have chosen a pallet with the right dimensions and load capacity for your cargo, it is time to pack the goods onto it. How to do it properly? Follow these rules:- Distribute the weight evenly on the pallet to ensure maximum stability – place heavier items at the bottom and lighter goods on top.
- When arranging items on the pallet, create a uniform surface – lay them like bricks in a wall, so that they form an even plane and individual layers overlap.
- All items must be within the pallet boundaries – nothing may protrude beyond its edges.
- Each product should be individually packed and then placed on the pallet – this prevents the domino effect of one shipment damaging another. Use bubble wrap, polystyrene, cardboard, dividers, corner protectors, or other suitable packaging.
- Secure the entire load using strong stretch film, starting from the corners, and overlapping each subsequent layer with the previous one.
- Always check the stability of the shipment before sending – whether the items can shift or rotate.
- Label your shipment, especially if you are sending delicate products that could easily be damaged without proper knowledge of the shipment contents, e.g. glassware or porcelain.
