Sending a Pallet from Poland to Ireland

By Krzysztof Kwiatkowski · Founder of SpeedPack (since 2011) · Published 14 Jun 2026 · Updated 14 Jun 2026

Sending a pallet between Poland and Ireland is straightforward: SpeedPack collects door-to-door, transports depart every Friday, and delivery takes 3-6 working days. Because both countries are in the EU, there is no customs paperwork and no VAT to pay on the move. Pallets are priced individually by size and weight, so the best next step is to get an instant quote.

When a pallet makes more sense than parcels

If you are shipping more than a few boxes, or anything bulky and heavy, a pallet is usually the smarter choice. A standard parcel with SpeedPack starts from €25 and handles items up to 50 kg, which is ideal for one or two boxes. But once you are sending many boxes together, a single pallet keeps everything consolidated, stable, and easier to track as one unit.

Choose a pallet when you are sending:

  • A furniture set or several large items together
  • White goods and appliances
  • Bulk goods bought in quantity
  • Business stock and restocking shipments

Standard pallet sizes

Two pallet footprints cover most shipments:

  • Euro pallet: 120 x 80 cm - the most common European standard, ideal for boxed goods and mixed loads.
  • Industrial pallet: 120 x 100 cm - slightly wider, useful for larger appliances or wider cartons.

If you only have a small load, you can think of it as a half-pallet conceptually - a part-filled footprint. Either way, we check and price each pallet individually, so you do not need to guess a category in advance.

What typically goes on a pallet

Pallets are built for goods that are too heavy, too many, or too bulky to send as loose parcels. Common loads on the Poland-Ireland route include flat-pack and assembled furniture sets, fridges, washing machines and other appliances, cases of bulk goods, and pallets of business stock for shops and online sellers restocking across the two markets.

How to prepare and wrap a pallet safely

A well-built pallet arrives intact. Follow these steps:

  1. Stack evenly. Keep the load within the pallet footprint - nothing overhanging the edges, which risks damage in transit.
  2. Heaviest at the bottom. Build a stable base with the heaviest items low and lighter items on top.
  3. Shrink-wrap the whole load. Wrap tightly from the base upwards, several layers, anchoring the goods to the pallet itself.
  4. Strap it down. Add straps over the top and around the load for extra security on heavier or taller pallets.
  5. Label clearly. Mark the pallet with sender and recipient details so it stays matched to your shipment.

A tidy, well-secured pallet is faster to handle and far less likely to shift or topple on the road.

How pallets are priced

Unlike standard parcels, pallets do not have a fixed price. Each one is quoted individually based on its size and weight, because a part-filled euro pallet and a fully loaded industrial pallet are very different shipments. We check every pallet rather than applying a blanket weight or height limit, so you get a fair price for what you are actually sending. The fastest way to see your cost is to check the price online.

Delivery time and customs

Most pallets are delivered in 3-6 working days, door-to-door. Collections run Tuesday to Thursday and transports depart every Friday, so your pallet joins the next weekly run. Because Poland and Ireland are both EU member states, there is no customs clearance and no import VAT on the move - one of the biggest advantages of shipping on this route.
