Moving From Poland to Ireland: How to Ship Your Belongings
By Krzysztof Kwiatkowski · Founder of SpeedPack (since 2011) · Published 14 Jun 2026 · Updated 14 Jun 2026
Shipping your belongings from Poland to Ireland is straightforward: pack your boxes and items, book a door-to-door courier, and your things are collected in Poland and delivered to your new Irish address. Because both countries are in the EU, there is no customs and no VAT on personal belongings. Standard parcels start from €25 (up to 50 kg), while furniture, appliances and full-home loads on pallets are priced individually.
What a move usually involves
Most moves from Poland to Ireland are a mix of three things: boxes of personal items (clothes, books, kitchenware, documents), furniture (wardrobes, tables, chairs, mattresses), and household appliances or white goods such as a fridge, washing machine or TV. You rarely send just one type, and that is fine. SpeedPack handles parcels, oversized items and pallets on the same route, so a single move can travel together rather than being split between several companies.
Small moves vs full-home moves
A small move is usually a few boxes and a couple of items, for example when you are setting up a first flat or sending the essentials ahead of yourself. These typically ship as standard parcels, from €25 each (up to 50 kg per parcel).
A full-home move is larger: the contents of a flat or house, often including furniture and appliances. These are usually consolidated onto pallets, which keeps everything stable, protected and easy to handle. A euro pallet measures 120x80 cm and an industrial pallet 120x100 cm, and items are stacked, wrapped and secured for transport. For anything larger than a standard parcel, the best step is to get a quote.
How a move is priced
Pricing reflects what you are actually sending: the volume and weight of your load, and the mix of boxes, pallets and furniture. A handful of boxes is simple to price as standard parcels from €25 each. A full-home move with furniture and white goods is quoted individually, because the number of pallets and the size of oversized items vary from move to move. For an instant figure on parcels, use the instant quote; for larger loads, request a tailored quote and we will price the whole move.
How to pack and label your boxes
Good packing protects your belongings and makes the move faster:
- Use sturdy boxes and do not overfill them; keep each box light enough to lift comfortably.
- Wrap fragile items individually and fill gaps with paper or padding so nothing shifts.
- Seal boxes firmly with tape across the seams.
- Label every box clearly with your name and the destination address in Ireland.
- For furniture and appliances, remove or secure loose parts and protect corners and edges.
- Keep a short list of what is in each box; it makes unpacking in Ireland much easier.
Collection in Poland and delivery in Ireland
The service is door-to-door. We collect from your address in Poland and deliver to your new address in Ireland, so you do not need to drop anything at a depot or arrange the final leg yourself. Collections run Tuesday to Thursday, and transports depart every Friday on the weekly Poland to Ireland line. Typical delivery is 3-6 working days door-to-door, and you can follow your shipment with tracking the whole way. When you are ready, order a courier and choose your collection day.
No customs on personal belongings
Because Poland and Ireland are both in the EU, your personal belongings move freely. There is no customs clearance and no VAT to pay on the things you already own, which keeps the move simpler and faster than shipping outside the EU. You pack, we carry, and your belongings arrive at your new home without paperwork hurdles.
