What are oversized parcels?

Oversized parcels are shipments that exceed the parameters of standard parcels. This means:

• They have a girth greater than 300 cm (calculated as: length × 2 + width × 2 + height)
• The longest side exceeds 175 cm

How to prepare an oversized parcel for transport?

Proper preparation of the parcel is crucial for its safety. Recommendations for oversized parcels:

• ✅ Use a very durable cardboard box or wooden packaging
• ✅ Fill empty spaces with cushioning materials (e.g., styrofoam, foam)
• ✅ Secure all edges and corners well
• ✅ Ensure the parcel has no loose elements
• ✅ Label the parcel as “OVERSIZED” or “FRAGILE” if it contains delicate items
• ✅ Provide accurate sender and recipient address details in a visible place

The cost of transporting oversized parcels with SpeedPack is calculated individually based on their actual weight and dimensions.

How do we calculate the price?

Each oversized parcel is weighed and measured at the sender’s location (in Ireland) or the recipient’s location (in Poland). We compare:

• Actual (physical) weight
• Volumetric weight, calculated using the formula:

We use the higher of the two values – actual or volumetric weight – for pricing.

Oversized shipments (long items)

If the parcel length exceeds 200 cm, it is treated as a long item, and a 50% surcharge is added to the base transport price.
