Standard parcels – dimensions and weight limits

To qualify as a standard parcel, your shipment must meet specific weight and size requirements.

  • 🔸 Maximum weight of a standard parcel: 50 kg
  • 🔸 Maximum allowable girth of the parcel: 300 cm
  • 🔸 Longest side must not exceed 175 cm

When is a parcel considered standard?

A parcel is considered standard if its girth does not exceed 300 cm. The girth of a courier parcel is calculated using the following formula:

Girth = (side A × 2) + (side B × 2) + side C (where side C is always the longest side of the parcel)

Example:
Parcel dimensions: 50 cm × 50 cm × 100 cm:
Calculation: 50 × 2 + 50 × 2 + 100 = 300 cm

Such a parcel meets the standard criteria, provided it also does not exceed the 50 kg weight limit and the longest side does not exceed 175 cm.

Parcels exceeding any of the above parameters are classified as oversized parcels – also handled by SpeedPack, but priced according to the oversized parcel rate.

How to pack a parcel to ensure safe delivery?

Proper preparation of the parcel is key to its safe delivery. Here are our top packing recommendations:

  • ✅ Use a sturdy box – preferably new and five-layered
  • ✅ Secure the contents – use bubble wrap, styrofoam, or other fillers
  • ✅ Seal the parcel thoroughly with packing tape – especially the bottom and edges
  • ✅ Place sender and recipient information in a visible spot
  • ✅ Avoid empty spaces – contents should not move inside the box
  • ✅ Do not send dangerous or prohibited items – check the list of excluded items
