Customs & VAT When Sending Parcels Between Poland and Ireland

Why there's no customs between Poland and Ireland

Both countries are inside the EU single market and customs union. Goods that are already in free circulation in one EU country can move to another without:

• Customs declarations or commodity codes
• Import duty
• Import VAT on the parcel
• Brokerage or "handling" fees from the courier

This is the big difference compared to sending to or from outside the EU — for example the UK after Brexit — where parcels can attract duty, VAT and customs paperwork.
