How to pack lamps
Lamps are delicate items that require special protection β both due to fragile components (glass, lampshades) and irregular shapes.
1Disassembly
- βRemove the lampshade β pack it separately.
- βUnscrew light bulbs β pack separately in bubble wrap.
- βRemove decorative elements, crystals, pendants.
- βFold or remove the arm of a floor lamp (if possible).
2Packing the base
- βWrap the lamp base in bubble wrap β min. 2 layers.
- βCoil the cable and tape it to the base.
- βPlace in a box matched to the size.
- βFill empty spaces with paper or foam.
3Packing the lampshade
- βWrap the lampshade in tissue paper or thin paper (not bubble wrap directly on fabric).
- βPlace in a separate box β the lampshade must not bend or be compressed.
- βPlace filler between the lampshade and the box walls.
- βLabel the box: "THIS WAY UP" and "HANDLE WITH CARE".

Fabric lampshades are best wrapped in clean cloth instead of film β this protects against discolouration.
4Hanging lamps (chandeliers)
- βRemove all crystals, glass elements and pendants β pack separately.
- βWrap chandelier arms individually in bubble wrap.
- βPlace the whole unit in a large box with plenty of filler.
- βCoil electrical cables and secure with tape.

Lamps with glass shades are transported at the customer's risk β glass is not covered by insurance.
