Motorcycle transport
Transporting a motorcycle requires proper vehicle preparation and protection of all components exposed to mechanical damage.
1Preparing the motorcycle
- ✓Wash the motorcycle – this makes it easier to detect any damage before and after transport.
- ✓Take photos from all sides – documentation of condition before shipping.
- ✓Check the fuel level – the tank should be filled to max. 1/4.
- ✓Disconnect the battery – secure the terminals with tape.
- ✓Check tyre pressure – it should be within the normal range.
2Protecting components
- ✓Mirrors: remove or fold and protect with bubble wrap.
- ✓Handlebars: set straight, secure with tape to prevent turning.
- ✓Fairings and plastics: wrap in bubble wrap, especially edges.
- ✓Exhaust: cover the inlet and outlet with cardboard (prevents dirt from entering).
- ✓Top cases, saddlebags: remove and pack separately.
3Securing for transport
- ✓We transport the motorcycle on a trailer – it must be firmly secured.
- ✓Tie-down straps: the motorcycle will be strapped down by our team.
- ✓Side stand: fold and secure – the motorcycle will stand on its wheels.
💡
Turn off the anti-theft alarm – it may trigger during transport and drain the battery.
4Important information
- ✓Vehicle documents (registration certificate, insurance) should be prepared separately – they may be required.
- ✓Hand the keys to the driver in person.
- ✓Loose accessories (helmets, gloves) should be packed separately in a box.
⚠️
The motorcycle must be technically sound – brakes, handlebars and wheels must function properly.
⚠️
Oil or fuel leaks disqualify the motorcycle from transport.
