How to pack mattresses

Transporting mattresses requires proper preparation – these are large, flexible items sensitive to dirt that are easily mechanically damaged or absorb moisture.

1The mattress must be dry and clean

  • We do not ship damp or dirty mattresses.
  • Before packing, check that the mattress is completely dry.
  • Stains, odour or signs of moisture disqualify the mattress from transport.

2Wrapping and protection

  • Wrap the mattress in stretch film – tightly, min. 3 layers.
  • Add a layer of bubble wrap as cushioning, especially at the corners.
  • Protect corners and longer edges with foam, cardboard or additional layers of bubble wrap.
  • Each layer should be well secured with packing tape.

3Never fold the mattress!

  • The mattress must be transported flat or upright – always in one piece.
⚠️

DO NOT FOLD the mattress in half! This can permanently damage the structure (especially spring mattresses).

4Sealing and labelling

  • After wrapping with stretch film and bubble wrap, use wide packing tape to secure.
  • Label the shipment: "CAUTION – MATTRESS – DO NOT BEND".
  • Add labels: "DO NOT DROP", "FRAGILE".
