Packing for a removal

An international removal requires careful preparation. Properly packed belongings guarantee safe transport between Poland and Ireland.

1Preparing cardboard boxes

  • Use strong, 3-ply cardboard boxes – new or well-preserved.
  • Label each box with contents and destination room (kitchen, bedroom, etc.).
  • Do not exceed 25–30 kg per box – they will be safer and easier to carry.
  • Boxes with heavy items (books, dishes) should be smaller.

2Packing fragile items

  • Wrap each item individually in bubble wrap or packing paper.
  • Pack plates vertically (like books on a shelf) – less prone to cracking.
  • Glasses and mugs: fill the inside with paper, wrap the outside.
  • Fill empty spaces in the box – nothing should be able to move.
⚠️

Glass and porcelain are transported at the customer's risk and are not covered by insurance.

3Clothes and textiles

  • Clothes on hangers can be left – wrap with stretch film as a bundle.
  • Bedding and towels work great as filling between furniture.
  • Pack shoes in pairs in bags or wrap with stretch film.

4Preparing furniture

  • Disassemble whatever you can (table legs, shelves, drawers).
  • Put screws and small parts in a bag and tape it to the furniture.
  • Protect corners and edges with cardboard or foam.
  • Wrap upholstered furniture with stretch film – protects against dirt and scuffs.
💡

Take photos of electronics connections before disconnecting – it will make reconnecting easier.

5Documents and valuables

  • Take documents, jewellery, cash and important items with you personally.
  • Do not pack them for the removal – they are not covered by insurance.
  • Take medications in your hand luggage.
⚠️

Do not pack food, flammable liquids, batteries or hazardous materials.
