How to pack?

Bicycle Packing Instructions

Speedpack accepts bicycles for transport only under specific packing conditions. A bicycle must be securely protected either in its original box or thoroughly wrapped in stretch film. Proper packing ensures the bike arrives intact and without damage during international or domestic transport.

Accepted Packaging Options

1. Original Manufacturer Box:

  • The best and safest way to ship a bicycle is in the original cardboard box provided by the manufacturer.
  • The box includes internal spacers, brackets, or padding that prevent movement and absorb shocks.
  • This method protects all parts of the bicycle – including the frame, wheels, chain, derailleur, and handlebars.

2. Stretch Film Wrapping (If Box Is Not Available):

  • The entire bicycle must be tightly and thoroughly wrapped in multiple layers of industrial-grade stretch film.
  • All exposed parts should be additionally protected with bubble wrap or cardboard.
  • Sharp or protruding components (e.g. pedals, handlebar ends) should be covered to prevent damage or injury during handling.
  • Ensure all moving parts are immobilized or tightly secured.

General Recommendations

  • Turn the handlebars sideways or remove them if necessary.
  • Lower or remove the saddle to reduce height.
  • Remove any accessories such as lights, computers, or bottle holders.
  • Mark the package clearly as β€œBICYCLE” and, if needed, β€œFRAGILE” or β€œDO NOT STACK”.

What Is Not Accepted

  • ❌ Bicycles loosely wrapped or with parts exposed.
  • ❌ Packing done with soft bags or covers.
  • ❌ Items attached to the bike (such as bags, helmets, pumps) without additional protection.
  • ❌ Incomplete packaging or labeling.
