How to pack?

Moving Packing Instructions

Preparing for an international or domestic move involves not only logistics, but also proper packing of your belongings. Proper packaging ensures that your items are protected throughout the journey and arrive at their destination intact. At Speedpack, we place great importance on safe transport, and that’s why we’ve compiled this detailed guide to help you pack effectively for a move.

Select the Right Boxes

  • Use strong, three-layer cardboard boxes.
  • Avoid reusing soft or previously damaged boxes.
  • Choose box sizes appropriate for the items: small boxes for heavy items (books, tools), larger boxes for lighter contents (clothing, linens).

Pack Heavier Items at the Bottom

  • Always place heavier items at the bottom and lighter ones on top.
  • This prevents crushing and helps maintain balance during transit.

Wrap and Protect Fragile Items

  • Use bubble wrap, foam sheets, or soft cloths to wrap fragile items.
  • Secure items with tape and place them in inner boxes with padding before placing into larger boxes.

Fill Empty Spaces

  • Use filler materials (paper, bubble wrap, foam chips) to prevent movement inside boxes.
  • Boxes should be tightly packed but not overstuffed.

Secure with Quality Tape

  • Use wide packing tape to seal all openings.
  • Reinforce the bottom of the box even if it appears strong.

Label Each Box Clearly

  • Write the room name and general contents on each box.
  • Mark boxes containing fragile items with β€œFRAGILE”.
  • Number boxes to make unloading and organizing easier.

Use Stretch Wrap for Furniture and Suitcases

  • Wrap soft furniture (mattresses, couches) with multiple layers of stretch film.
  • Do the same with travel bags to protect against dirt and damage.
  • Please note: only travel bags are accepted. Hard suitcases are excluded from transport.

Equipment and Electronics

  • Computers, laptops, and televisions are only accepted in original packaging with styrofoam inserts.
  • Other electronics should be well protected and secured inside appropriate boxes.
  • Use anti-static materials for sensitive electronics if available.

Kitchenware and Glass

  • Wrap all glassware and porcelain separately and secure it with bubble wrap.
  • Place in small boxes and then into a larger box using padding.
  • Note: glass and porcelain are excluded from standard and oversized parcel services and are transported at your own risk.

Household Appliances

  • We only accept large appliances in original manufacturer packaging.
  • Appliances not packed properly may be refused for transport.
